George Washington Carver was an agricultural scientist and inventor who developed hundreds of products using peanuts, sweet potatoes and soybeans. Born an African American slave a year before slavery was outlawed, Carver left home at a young age to pursue education and would eventually earn a master’s degree in agricultural science from Iowa State University. In 1896, he came to teach and conduct research at Tuskegee University until his death in 1943.  The archives has the most complete collection of Carver material, including all of the Carver Bulletins.
