Originally built in 1945 as a dormitory for nursing students, Lillian Harvey Hall was renamed after Lillian Holland Harvey in 1992. Harvey served as Director of Nurse Training at the John A. Andrew Memorial Hospital at Tuskegee Institute (University) and then Dean of Nursing from 1944–1973. Harvey established the first baccalaureate program in nursing in the state of Alabama in 1953.
