Although the predominance of what are called “The Booker T. Washington Papers” are found in the Library of Congress Archives, this collection represents documents and other items that were not retrieved and moved to Washington DC in 1943. Booker T. Washington was the first principle of Tuskegee University, serving from 1881 to 1915.
