{"id":2,"date":"2020-06-05T19:23:37","date_gmt":"2020-06-05T19:23:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/archive.tuskegee.edu\/neh\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2021-04-29T15:25:13","modified_gmt":"2021-04-29T15:25:13","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/archive.tuskegee.edu\/neh\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About the Project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On the behalf of the National Endowment for the Humanities Literary Legacies of Macon County and Tuskegee Institute grant administrators will help Tuskegee University faculty produce new curricular materials, digital humanities resources, and community engagement activities focused on three 20th century authors:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.tuskegee.edu\/neh\/our-legacies\/#zora-neale-hurston\" data-type=\"page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zora Neale Hurston<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.tuskegee.edu\/neh\/our-legacies\/#ralph-ellison\" data-type=\"page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ralph Ellison<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.tuskegee.edu\/neh\/our-legacies\/#albert-murray\" data-type=\"page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Albert Murray<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tuskegee\u2019s grant, entitled \u201cLiterary Legacies of Macon County and Tuskegee Institute: Zora Neale Hurston, Ralph Ellison, and Albert Murray\u201d is among the newest NEH-funded digital projects, preserved collections, and humanities initiatives on college campuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project, under the direction of Dr. Adaku Ankumah, a professor of English and chair of the Department of Communication, Modern Languages, and Philosophy, will advance humanities education at Tuskegee University.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.wixstatic.com\/media\/6b9bf3_221f8d46b54e4671b15ee83295364353~mv2.jpg\/v1\/fill\/w_200,h_200,al_c,q_80,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01\/3Literary-Icons-thumb_edited.webp\" alt=\"3Literary-Icons-thumb_edited.jpg\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On the behalf of the National Endowment for the Humanities Literary Legacies of Macon County and Tuskegee Institute grant administrators will help Tuskegee University faculty produce new curricular materials, digital humanities resources, and community engagement activities focused on three 20th century authors:\u00a0Zora Neale Hurston,\u00a0Ralph Ellison, and\u00a0Albert Murray.
