Guide to the Records of the Carver Research Foundation Board of Trustees
Abstract
The Carver Research Foundation was founded in 1940 with an endowment by Dr. George Washington Carver. The Foundation was formed to continue Carver’s scientific research while allowing new opportunities for capable young researchers to develop their skills. The Foundation engaged in scientific research in agricultural and industrial fields and was governed by a board of trustees. The Foundation continued its work into the late 1980s when it was designated a Research Center in Minority Institutions with the National Institute of Health as the source of funding.
